(More customer reviews)For 32 years I had been buying, and throwing away, pots and pans which had been purchased on sale. It was what I thought I could afford. Why spend money on "good" housewares? It was only for cooking, right? Wrong...
I sigh when I think of the dinners spoiled because the pots didn't heat evenly or burned the food, as well as the hours wasted cleaning charred food from the bottom of once-shiny metal pots. The $ spent on the discards could have bought one piece of quality cookware which I would probably still own today. They were no bargain if I had to throw them away.
Such waste could have been avoided had someone told me about All Clad. This particular pot is used every night of the week. It heats evenly, food doesn't stick to it, and looks brand new after cleaning. An important factor is that the product is made in the USA, and not in China. American companies need our support so I am willing to pay a higher price for quality. My wish list for any occasion includes only a piece of All Clad.

of other homely cooking projects. It's a great all-around pot that is
smartly designed and heavy enough to heat things evenly, but not so

French copper pots, this one has a stainless steel interior rather
than tin, and is considerably more useful, because lighter in

I also use it for manipulating items in large bowls when I'm marinating, coating, etc. The "locking" feature helps save space when storing in my drawer. The only drawback I've found with the relatively "flat" ends of this tong is that with some items, especially slippery things like raw chicken thighs, it's hard to get a good grip. So I wish they would also come out with a version which has more rounded ends for better grip capability.

(More customer reviews)Okay so my wife and I got this set of pots and pans for ourselves for christmas. I guess you could say it was our present to ourselves. As this was our first decent set of cookware we were a little nervous about the price, but wow are they worth every penny. They heat so evenly you never have to turn your burner more than medium. That means that you don't get the ugly black burn marks on the bottom of the pan. We are huge fans or Itailan cusine, so we use a lot of olive oil when we cook, so I'm sure that is why we never have anything stick to them. They look absolutly amazing, The only problem that I have found so far with this cookware is that to keep them looking great I have to shine them a lot. But I use a little bit of BAR KEEPER'S FRIEND every week to shine them up a little bit and they stay looking amazing. We have had ours about six months now and we loved them so much that we went ahead and ordered a 3 qt, 4qt sauce pan, a 12" cover saute pan, and a 12 qt stock pot of the same series. They are worth every penny that you spend on them. You just have to remember that they are not teflon coated so you have to give them a minute to warm up before putting anything on them. Keep stiring or shaking whatever your cooking. But I love them so much. I love cooking and I have always wanted a quality set of pots and pans. I now have them and I will never trade them in. Great buy at any price. Only one other thing that everybody will like to know. You can find this exact set at walmart for about sixty dollars less. just letting you guys know that. But I would recommend them again and again.

(More customer reviews)Let me preface this review with the fact that I am Italian and raised 5 children on daily home-cooked meals. The kitchen is the center of my home. So when my daughter got her own apartment out west and asked for a set of pots for Christmas, I wanted to make sure I got her a quality set that would last her for years and years. I knew what I wanted for her, but didn't know which brand to purchase. Non-stick was out (I have never liked it). The pots also had to be both dishwasher/oven safe, and I wanted the pot handles to be riveted into the pot. Off I went to the mall with my "specifications" in hand to look at the different brands and sets available. Boy was I amazed at how many there were! I took my time and examined each set. Not only did I look at the sets, but I also handled the sets. This is VERY important. Many of the quality sets were so heavy that I needed two hands to lift the larger pieces, and although I could lift the smaller saucepans, I had difficulty tilting them to the side to pour. Others had handles that were very uncomfortable to use. Then I came upon the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless 10-piece cookware set. I was very impressed by the quality. They were heavy grade yet easy to handle. They also met my other specifications listed above AND they looked really nice as well. The price of $149 was quite unbelievable. I drove home and ran straight to my computer and ordered the set through Amazon. I got free shipping and had the set delivered directly to my daughter. I also used the holiday bonus coupon for $25 off my order. I was so impressed with the set and the deal Amazon was offering, a few days later I purchased a second set through Amazon for myself. I LOVE them. They cook beautifully on my gas range and clean up well in the dishwasher. The handles DO NOT get hot while cooking, which totally surprised me. Do be careful with the lid handles though. They will get hot if cooking on higher heat. I haven't had a problem with delicate foods burning due to the high thermoconductivity of the pans; however, my stove is a professional grade 6-burner unit. I don't know if that makes any difference or not. All I can say is this set looks great, cooks great, handles great, and sells at a great price. What more can you ask for?

(More customer reviews)I am going to steal the words of another reviewer: I love, love, LOVE this little pot! Pour spouts?!?!? A strainer in the lid?!?!? This isn't rocket science! Why don't more pots have these thoughtful features? Oh how I so wish there were pour spouts on my Calphalon Contemporary pots!
I did feel that I needed to knock off a star for the handle. It has an inverted or indented channel running down the middle, and it just doesn't feel comfortable or stable in my hand. Not a big deal on a pot this small, but if you're considering a larger Emeril pot, I would strongly encourage you to handle one in person before investing. This might be more a matter of personal preference, but when handling large, heavy, hard-anodized pots, I feel that having a secure, stable, and comfortable grip is important. The only other hard-anodized pot close to this size with pour spouts and strainer lid that I have seen was a 2 quart pot made by Cuisinart; I disliked the handle on that pot even more. If the strainer lid is not important, there are more options. If hard-anodized is not a requirement, check out the highly review and well-priced Faberware Classic one quart pot with strainer.
As for durability, I have used this Emeril pot at least once a week on a glass-top stove for the past three months, and it still looks and functions like it is brand new. As for the long haul, I check back in the future with an update.

This food mill is beautifully made and everything functions very smoothly. The machining and quality of the steel is excellent. The handle works very smoothly and it can be placed securely over a mixing bowl to work. It is typical of all the things this company makes: very high quality, esthetically pleasing, well-conceived and a bit expensive. To get a complete set of disks, you have to purchase the others separately, but the two that come with it are useful enough, depending on what it is used for. I hardly use the food processor any more, preferring more "primitive" but satisfying methods like this and mortar and pestle.

(More customer reviews).....I am a longtime cook, skilled with old aluminum Presto pressure cookers. I received the Fagor Splendid 2-in-1 cooker as a requested gift about 3 years ago. My biggest complaint after a couple years of use was the fancy V-cross-section gasket, which stopped sealing properly after about a year of use, and is pricey to replace. 2009 update: Fagor has switched to a much longer lasting grey gasket (the early ones were turquoise) that seals better. I bought one a couple of years ago and it is still going strong.
.....I hardly use the shallower pan from this set, but the deep pan is wonderfully useful. It's stainless steel, not aluminum, so I don't worry about aluminum getting into the food. It's got a nice heavy bottom, and so is good for deepfrying and popping popcorn as well as pressure cooking. The tall capacity is nice, I can parboil a whole chicken before roasting it, without clogging the vent.
.....The complex safety features are kinda tricky to wash, but this is definitely a useful pan; it does a great job of hurry-up cooking. I am at a mile altitude, so a pressure cooker really is needed frequently in my kitchen.

MIU Stainless-Steel 7-Piece Measuring Cup Set Review

(More customer reviews)I really like this set. Long handles...yes the cups are more wide than deep (trying to get used to that)...and they are heavyweight, stainless steel...but
- I find dry foods kind of "stick" to these weird "ridges" on the inside / no one has mentioned that and I have to take special care to wipe them out afterward - more so than with smooth stainless/they are not smooth on the inside/bottom. That's as good as I can explain it.
- The larger cups balance on their own when empty without their handles tipping/touching - back to the counter but the others do not. This may not be a big deal to you - but I thought there would be that consistency there meaning when empty all the handles would stay elevated off the counter, not all of them do...and I get annoyed with some tipping back on their handles when empty...is that just me? I have to stack them all into the 1 cup to keep them from doing that...but they do stack nicely.
I like the sizes...this really is the best set for sizes. If you can afford this set - get it. It is a once in a lifetime buy - these will last a lifetime...
I also like how the markings are clearly engraved into the handles and I like how the handles are straightback level with each cup and long.

All-Clad Cop-R-Chef 7-Piece Cookware Set Review

(More customer reviews)Please do not waste your money on this 7 piece cop-r-chef cookware. The copper on this cookware is purely aesthetic. I measured it and it came out to about 1/32nd of an inch. That means it's less than 1 mm. Now I understand why All-Clad will not tell you the measurements of the copper.
The bottom of the sauté pan turned red when I cooked in it only one time. This is no joke - it actually turned red. I'm not talking about a beautiful copper red, I'm talking about an ugly red. It looked as if the copper was so thin that the heat allowed you to see through the copper and view the aluminum above it. Note: I rechecked the bottom of the pan when it cooled down and some of the copper was wiped off. It's as if the bottom was only painted copper color.
I have a 7 piece Belgique cookware set that's worth about $70 and I like it better than this set that cost close to $700. Even if I only wanted a copper set for display, I still would not get this again; I'd buy the cheaper Professional Grade 9pc Tri-Ply Copper Cookware that you can find on ebay (.4 mm) and display it instead.
Pros:
Light weight
Copper color is beautiful (ditto for any copper cookware)
Sauté pan cooks very well
Wooden crate is nice and can be used around the house
Cons:
Less than 1 mm of copper (.79375 mm)
Handles will hurt your hand
Bottom of pan turns ugly red!
Do yourself a favor and consider buying Falk, Mauviel, or Bourgeat. The first two have about 2.5 mm of copper and the latter is 1/8 inch (about 3mm) of copper. No aluminum exists at all on these pans - the copper actually does the cooking with stainless steel on top to protect the food. Please note these will be heavy - copper is heavier than cast iron.
Also, it appears that All-Clad sets a minimum price for their products - that's why no matter where you visit, the price is always the same. In the business world, one knows that by keeping prices elevated, a product gains an elite status and people want to buy it based on a perception "high price means good quality and elitism". Looking at the other positive reviews makes me think that some people believe if they pay a lot for something then it is good. Buy this product if you want to but I think you will be sorry. It is nothing but a stainless steel pot with aluminum for heat conductivity and copper plated for looks.
I wish I had had this review before wasting my money. I definitely will take the product back tomorrow.
One final important note:
The only real issue I have with Cop-R-Chef is the amount of copper it offers. If you are buying this set for the copper then it falls short of my expectations. I was impressed with frying onions in the sauté pan.

(More customer reviews)I really can't believe that Amazon has had this error on the website for so long and not fixed it! Beware, if you are looking for a 4 qt. Pro-Clad saucepan, it does not exist! If you order it, you will get a saute pan, not a sauce pan (not even close to the same thing, FYI). I really wish there was a way to get a 4 qt. saucepan, but your only choice is to either go with the cheaper Emerilware "Stainless" line with the copper clad bottom, or fork over the big$ for the All-Clad stainless pan ($199.95 yikes!). I wish Amazon would fix this...I almost ordered if for my wife before I called All-Clad to check and they verified it does not exist!
