(More customer reviews)After doing rigorous comparison shopping, including looking at commercial clad cookware like Vollrath Tribute, I consider the new Le Creuset cookware to be the best available, hands down. The lids are thicker, the pot bodies are heavier, and the handles are more comfortable. These pots and pans put brands like All Clad to shame.

Yes, they are made in China. Only All Clad, which now makes their handles and lids off-shore too (they don't tell you where) and Vollrath are made in the US. All Clad is no better than Cuisinart (which would be my second choice, and a lot cheaper) or Calphalon, now discontinued, in the clad cookware category. And All Clad is ridiculously expensive, which in my opinion is completely unjustifiable, not to mention that their handles are as uncomfortable as they come.
If I didn't care about looks I would have gone with Vollrath, but the Le Creuset are very attractive (for pots and pans). The new handles are thick and easy to grasp. The finish is impeccable.

This food mill is beautifully made and everything functions very smoothly. The machining and quality of the steel is excellent. The handle works very smoothly and it can be placed securely over a mixing bowl to work. It is typical of all the things this company makes: very high quality, esthetically pleasing, well-conceived and a bit expensive. To get a complete set of disks, you have to purchase the others separately, but the two that come with it are useful enough, depending on what it is used for. I hardly use the food processor any more, preferring more "primitive" but satisfying methods like this and mortar and pestle.

(More customer reviews)I also own its big brother and both pans work extremely well. Efficient, even heating. Upright handles make the pan easier to lift. Solid, heavy contruction. I like going from oven to stove top for making gravy. Easy to clean (dishwasher safe).
Worth the price for All Clad quality and the perfect roasted bird.

Emerilware Cast Iron 6 Quart Dutch Oven Review

(More customer reviews)This dutch oven was given to me as a gift. I am your typical engineer who loves the process of cooking.
The pro's of this cast iron dutch oven.
1. It is nice and heavy which means even heating and heat retention. I am very happy with how even it holds heat when I am browning meat. It does not loose a lot of heat when you put meat in it to brown.
2. Side Handles are large enough even for big hands.
3. Pre-seasoned which is nice but is no big deal. Can easily be done and I would not use that as a criteria to not buy a superior product.
4. Price was reasonable. $49 at bed bath beyond and it was $40 with coupon.
5. Lids fits well.
6. 6 quarts is a good size. I can cook a whole chicken in this thing along with all the fixens.
Now the cons.
1. Lid handle is attached with one small screw. It feels like some porcelain and the screw can loosen and the lid can spin on the handle. Makes me worry that the lid will fall off or the screw will break. If you hands are wet the handle can be slippery.
2. Made in China. This is a concern of mine because the Chinese have had so many problems with making products with hazardous materials. I am not saying it is made out of something hazardous but it is a concern when your cooking for you family. I am disappointed that Emeril seems to go overseas for all of his production.
3. Update. After two weeks the porcelain lid handle is chipping. I have personally hand washed and babied this dutch oven and am very disappointed in this. I may return it and get a LodgeLogic dutch oven. I have a gift receipt.
I have lowered my rating from 3 stars to two because of the chipped lid handle.
All in all I am happy with the product and the only real negative is the handle. If I would have bought a dutch oven myself I would have bought a lodgelogic product because the handle is cast iron and they are made in America. Cost is about the same or a little more.
