(More customer reviews)One of my most cherished possessions is my mom's 6 quart Le Creuset turquoise dutch oven that she got when she married my dad in 1952. When I needed a bigger pot, I went to Le Creuset, but was worried that the newer product would never equal the quality of the vintage stuff.
Boy, was I wrong. This pot is amazing! The quality is evident from the look and heft of the pot, and it's performance is equal to or better than my vintage pot. I'm no gourmet, but if you cook soups, stews or pasta for crowds, this one is for you.

With its flat base and tall, straight sides, this large stockpot holds up to 12 quarts--great for canning, making party-size recipes of vegetarian chili or Brunswick Stew, and boiling whole ingredients like lobster, shellfish, or corn on the cob. The roomy vessel, which measures approximately 11-1/5 by 13-1/5 by 11-1/2 inches, makes a useful addition to any cookware collection. As part of Le Creuset's Enamel-on-Steel line, the pot features heavy-gauge carbon steel construction for fast heating and even heat distribution (no hot spots), along with a hard, glossy porcelain-enamel finish for both durability and eye-catching beauty on the stovetop. A stainless-steel rim around the top edge of the pot helps prevent chipping and cracking. Even more, its nonreactive interior resists flavor absorption and staining and cleans up in a snap. The cookware's loop side handles ensure a secure grip when lifting or transporting, and its tight-fitting domed lid with a stay-cool knob traps heat, moisture, and nutrients when cooking. The pot can be safely used on all stovetops, including induction, and should be hand washed only with hot soapy water and dried thoroughly.
