(More customer reviews)I bought this braiser from a website that sells All-Clad irregulars, not Amazon. The same day I found bad reviews on Amazon saying - This braiser is made in China, its not 3-ply and inferior quality. I was very stressed, that I spent my money on a pot, that is not as versatile as I need it to be and not the quality I expected. I was planning to use it for frying, sauteing, baking, casseroles and braising, even soup if i wanted. Well, when the pot arrived, first I checked the box, it said - COOKWARE MADE IN THE USA. LID AND RACK MADE IN CHINA. There also was a sticker NO RACK, I guess they do not come with irregulars, I didn't care for it anyway. After I opened the box I found a perfect pot, as you would expect from All-Clad. It was 3-Ply, aluminum goes up the sides. It was very well made, I compared it to my first quality 6 QT. All-Clad casserole, they are equal in weight, workmanship and quality. The only flaw I could find on the "irregular" braiser was a discoloration a size of a human hair on the underside of the pot. When I touched it I couldn't even feel it. I could hardly even see it, I got 20-20 vision. I only found it, because I was looking for it. So, I got a perfect pot at a discount price and its all All-Clad. Still I wanted to be sure, so I called All-Clad and talked to a rep. She asked - What does the box say? I said - Cookware made in the USA. So she said - "Your pot was made in the USA. Yes, there are some braisers that are made in China now, the box will say so". So I guess I got some of the old stock, that was made in the USA and was sitting in a warehouse waiting for me. Lucky me! So if you want to buy this braiser, ask the seller - What does the box say? Amazon has a "new and improved" model, I guess. I am going to update my review after I actually cook in the braiser, for now I am just admiring its beauty. Good luck everyone.

Braising works well when cooking larger, tougher cuts of meat--start by searing in hot oil and finish by simmering in water, stock, wine, or other liquid until the meat--or fish, seafood, or vegetables--becomes fully cooked and deliciously tender. This French-style braiser measures approximately 14-4/5 by 13-1/2 by 6-1/5 inches and offers a generous 6-quart capacity, which nicely accommodates pot roasts, ribs, and other favorite family recipes. Furthermore, its flared rim allows for easy pouring of juices and gravies, and a round-shaped stainless-steel rack insert comes included for added versatility.
Durably constructed, the cookware features a three-ply design, consisting of a layer of aluminum sandwiched between two layers of polished stainless steel, which helps deliver fast, even heating. Oven-safe up to 400 degrees F, the unit comes equipped with riveted side handles that promote a secure grip and safe transfer in and out of the oven and from the kitchen to the table, while its domed lid creates a roomy interior and helps hold in heat, moisture, and nutrients. Made in the USA, the braiser cleans up easily by hand or in the dishwasher and carries a limited lifetime warranty.
